General Terms and Conditions

For the purposes of this document, the terms Client, Owner, Pet Owner, and Customer are synonymous with the person contracting services for one or more domestic pets.

Business Office Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 4 pm to 8 pm

Sunday and Monday – Closed

Rates & Fees: All of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC's current rates and fees can be accessed through the website.

A holiday surcharge of $5.00 is applied to specific public holidays. They may include the following: Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Easter.
Last-minute Service: There will be an additional $15 fee for services scheduled less than 24-hour notice.
Registration Fee: Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC currently offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for all services.

Payment: Venmo and Cash apps, all major credit and debit cards, and checks are accepted.

Payment Process:

Payment is required with a signed agreement after the complimentary consultation and prior to rendering services. Payment in full is due at the time of service by either making an online payment via the link provided in your invoice, sending payment via PayPal, Cash App or Venmo, providing a check on the first day of service. Please note, credit or debit card information is not saved.
There will be a $40.00 service charge for each returned check.
There will be a late fee of $30.00 charged if full payment of any service is not received within 24 hours of the last visit.
Unpaid service may be canceled without notice, including prior to or during the service period.

Reservations: A service can be booked via the website, phone, or email. Confirmation emails will be emailed to the email address provided to confirm the date, time, and services that have been booked. Please note, messages left on voicemail or requested via text or email are not confirmations of services scheduled.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

A full refund will be provided if cancellation is received at least 7 days prior to scheduled service.
50% cancellation fee will apply if cancellation is received within 2-6 days of scheduled services.
100% cancellation fee will apply if cancellation is received within 48 hours of a scheduled service.
100% cancellation fee will apply if cancellation is received within 7 days of a national holiday.
Payments for training sessions and behavior consults are non-refundable; however, credit may be given against another private lesson or another service at the discretion of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC.
Services that are sold as packages are pre-paid to enable us to discount these packages. Packages do not allow for refunds or cancellations. All packages must be used within 6 months.
Reservations are made to guarantee and secure a Sitter\Trainer for our clients, therefore, we are unable to provide refunds for clients returning home early.

Visit Hours:

Every attempt will be made to continue your cat\s routine. However, no specific times will be set for In-Home care, or pet sitting, services. Visits will be made within the 2 hour time frame noted on the signed agreement. All training and Behavior Consulting appointments will be started at the scheduled appointment time.
All pets will receive care at least once every 24 hour period unless noted on the signed service agreement.

Friends and Family Access:

All other individuals that visit the home must be identified on the signed agreement, with their contact information, and will leave a log of their visit so the Sitter\Trainer can note their activity. If the Sitter\Trainer enters a home where an unidentified\unannounced visitor is present, the Sitter\Trainer will immediately leave the premises and notify the owner and police.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime that could occur while the home is under this contract. The cat owner agrees to secure their home prior to leaving the premises. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit.
The cat owner must have the legal rights to place the animals in the care of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC.
The Sitter\Trainer cannot service a home with “visiting” pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the service site without the necessary signed agreements by the rightful owner(s).
It is suggested that arrangements be made with someone to evacuate your pets in case of a disaster or weather-related event/crisis/”Code Red”. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will make every reasonable effort to see to your pet’s safety/care should such events occur, but cannot guarantee it.

Keys and Security of Premises:

While keys are in the possession of a Sitter\Trainer, they will either be on the Sitter\Trainer’s physical person or be properly stored at an undisclosed location.
It is suggested that Owners maintain control of their keys and use a lockbox to secure their keys on site. Lockbox codes and\or keys will need to be provided to Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC during the meet-n-greet appointment. There are no additional fees for returning keys to Owners.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC accepts no responsibility for security of the premises or loss if other individuals have access to a client’s home if the home is not properly secured on the client’s departure.
The terms of this document apply to all the pets owned by the client, including any and all new pets that the customer obtains on or after the date this document was signed, at any and all locations the owner designates for service.
The pet owner is responsible for pet-proofing the house and yard, and the security of the fencing, gates, and latches.
The owner is responsible for providing safe access to the home for the Sitter\Trainer.

Unsecured Pets:

Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not be responsible for the safety of any pets and will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

Pet and Home Care:

The pet owner is responsible for supplying the necessary safety equipment, supplies, and crates needed for the care of their pet(s), including but not limited to a sturdy, well-fitting harness, halter, collar, etc. for walks or in the case of emergencies, firmly affixed vaccination tags, a lead rope or leash, pooper-scoopers, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medicines, pet food, and cat litter.
Matted fur is fur that has become tightly knotted and unable to be brushed. Severe mats will not be combed out due to the discomfort and/or extreme pain they can cause the animal. Excessive matting can also cause irreversible skin damage. Such mats must be shaved. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will refer heavy matting to a qualified, professional Pet Groomer. Our strict de-matting policy puts all animals’ health and comfort above cosmetics and aesthetics, when necessary. It is our effort to promote the ongoing health and comfort of all pets in our care. We understand that many owners do not know that their pet is matted because the “topcoat” seems soft. Our Sitter\Trainers are trained professionals who can identify mats that are too tight to be combed. If we deem the coat is too matted to offer our brushing services then we will refer you to a local qualified pet groomer.
We do not express anal glands.
Pets with adverse ear conditions will be referred to your veterinarian.
Every effort is made to trim nails as accurately as possible. In some cases to avoid mental distress to your pet or physical discomfort the nail trimming may not be 100% “technically accurate.”
Employees of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not administer sedatives to your pet, even if they are veterinarian prescribed. If your cat needs this type of medication you need to make arrangements for your cat to be hospitalized with your veterinarian.
Employees of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC do not diagnose or make therapy decisions. Any veterinary\medical concerns will be referred to a veterinarian.
All Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC services require that your pets are up to date on their vaccinations according to local and state requirements and based on the recommendation of your veterinarian. This includes negative fecal tests.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is authorized to seek any emergency veterinarian assistance needed during this agreement at the cost of the client, from any veterinarian, as chosen by the Sitter\Trainer. However, Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is not responsible for the health\well being of the animal.
The pet owner authorizes any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of pet care duties. The pet owner agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining these items, and will reimburse Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC within 7 days for all purchases made.
The pet owner will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a Sitter\Trainer, or other persons, by the pet. The customer agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, in the event of a claim by any person injured by their pet.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is not responsible for wilted, dead, or otherwise unhealthy plants. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will endeavor to follow your written directions as precisely as possible, but cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable. Please place all indoor plants together on a waterproof surface in plain sight and inaccessible to your pets, as your Sitter\Trainer is not responsible for water-damaged areas or missed plants.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is not responsible for damage to the home beyond the control of the Sitter\Trainer. This includes, but is not limited to water leaks, electrical problems, and acts of nature. In these situations, the company will contact your designated emergency contact. All repairs and related fees will be paid by the client, or fully reimbursed to Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC within 7 days.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is not responsible for any damage to the client’s property, unless such damage is caused by the negligent act of the Sitter\Trainer.
The client agrees to notify Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC of any concerns within 24 hours of their return.

What follows are the Terms & Conditions for individual Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC services as addendums to our General Service Policy above.

Private Training and Behavior Consulting Agreements:

Pets are NOT PREDICTABLE and no guarantee or warranties are given, including completing behavior plan or training by any "deadline".
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC recognizes that the owner is responsible for their cat and the owner has the right to make decisions about the professional treatment of their cat.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will always hold the pet’s welfare as our top priority. The cat is the vulnerable component in the consultation process as they cannot offer informed consent. The role of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC is one that is beneficial to the cat and never to its detriment.
We seek to do no harm. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not condone or endorse any treatment by a pet’s owner that is physically or mentally cruel. We will opt out of a consulting agreement rather than attempt to manage an unethical course of action.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will only consult with clients that offer cases that the independently owned and operated Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC business has the professional competence to deal with.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will only use procedures, protocols, and training tools that are empirically based and have a proven track record of effectiveness. Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC uses training and behavior change methods that are minimally invasive and intrusive to the animal.
At Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, we will apply the following ethical principles to each situation we encounter: respect for the freedom and dignity of others, do not cause harm, do good, act fairly, and be faithful to promises made to the client.
In consideration for being accepted for training and\or behavior consulting with Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, a locally owned and operated Pet Care business, the client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, its employees or instructors against any and all claims or actions that may at any time be made or instituted against them by any person for the purpose of enforcing any cause of action growing out of or connected with my attendance or my cat’s attendance at a private or group training session conducted by Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC and their employees agree to provide services stated in this agreement in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives any and all claims against Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, or its employees including claims arising from negligence.

Walks and Play (Enrichment) Sessions Terms & Conditions:

Pets must be wearing nylon collars with their rabies tag, name, and home telephone number attached. A nylon or leather leash must be provided with the pet to Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC Sitter\Trainer.
All pets with outdoor access must be treated with a flea, tick, and heart-worm preventative. If fleas are found on a pet, a flea bath may be given at the owner’s expense. The price will be determined by Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC and in line with current market pricing.
This agreement is valid from the date signed and replaces any prior Legal Considerations agreements. The client agrees to any future Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC term changes relayed verbally to the client, mailed or emailed in writing to the client, or posted on our website under the heading ‘Terms.’
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC does not accept aggressive animals for walking services.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not walk cats by collars alone nor cats that are not in properly fitted harnesses. We recommend harnesses for dogs and cats being walked.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not walk more than one pet at a time. Please discuss walking suitability with your Sitter\Trainer.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC will not walk unruly or untrained pets.
All playtime sessions will be held on the owner’s property, in enclosed areas either inside or outside. Playtime sessions may include “breaks” for the pet, depending on their health, regular activity level, and interest in the play session.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC reserves the right to take pet(s) to vet if necessary. The client is responsible for all charges.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC reserves the right to deny service or terminate service because of safety concerns, financial concerns, or inappropriate or uncomfortable situations.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC adheres to all local, State, and Federal laws in regards to walking client’s pets.
The client’s cat will be kept on a leash while outdoors for a walk, training, or play session, even in a fenced backyard.

Confidentiality:

Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC considers communications with their clients privileged. We will only break that confidentiality if a pet is being abused (as legally defined) and the client cannot be dissuaded from using their current approach. We will act according to local and state laws in terms of reporting animal cruelty.
Future Services: By entering into this contract, the client authorizes this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC to accept all future telephone, online, mail, or email reservations and enter the client’s home without additional signed contracts or written authorizations.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if the Sitter\Trainer, in his\her sole discretion determines that the owner’s cat poses a danger to its own health or safety, other pets, other people, or the Sitter\Trainer. If concerns prohibit the Sitter\Trainer from caring for the cat, the owner authorizes the cat to be placed in a kennel (or previously arranged locale), with all charges (including but not limited to transportation, kenneling, tranquilizing, treating, accessing, and liability) to be the responsibility of the cat owner.
Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC and their employees agree to provide services stated in this agreement in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives any and all claims against Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, or its employees including claims arising from negligence. The client also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC, its employees or instructors against any and all claims or actions that may at any time be made or instituted against them by any person for the purpose of enforcing any cause of action growing out of or connected with my pet’s service with Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC.
This agreement is valid from the date signed and replaces any prior Legal Considerations or Agreements. The client agrees to any future Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC term changes relayed in writing to the client, mailed or emailed, or posted on our website under the heading ‘Terms.’
Photographs, videotapes, or digital recordings are taken of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC clients, customers, and staff on a regular basis for, among other things, use in advertising by Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC. I acknowledge that all such images (electronic, negatives, and positives), together with prints and the copyrights therein, are the property of Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC. I give Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC and persons authorized by Alex’s Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC my consent, permission, and authorization, without compensation to me, to use, reproduce and alter the images, in print or electronic format (including on the internet), either alone or in combination with other images, text, and graphics. I waive my right to approve the finished photograph, advertising copy, print material, or electronic files that may be used in conjunction with the images. I represent that I am at least 18 years of age and acknowledge that the rights granted in this paragraph are irrevocable, worldwide and perpetual, and are binding on my heirs, successors, and assigns.

Type of information collected: Alex's Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC receives, collects and stores any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the e-mail address entered; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

How information is collected: When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

Why is this information collected?:

Alex's Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC collects such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

To provide and operate the Services;
To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;
To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;
To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;

How is your information stored, used, shared, or disclosed? Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

How will Alex's Feline Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC communicate with you? We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes, we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.
